Growing up on the Eastern Shore and being married with 2 children, Allison has an intimate understanding of local issues and loves working directly with people and community organisations to find common-sense solutions to improve the quality of people’s daily lives.
Some of Allison’s priorities for Pembroke will include:
Opposing moves by Labor and Liberal to remove the rights of communities to have a say on development. Allison will ensure you have a voice as part of a planning system that operates with integrity and independence.
Labor and Liberal cannot be trusted to protect key public assets. Allison is the only candidate proposing to introduce legislation that will require a REFERENDUM OF THE PEOPLE before any Government can sell key assets such as our energy, water and transport.
Advocating for more police in the right places, connected with the community.
A permanent ban on foreign investors buying residential properties and land. The pressure on so many in our community around access to affordable housing and rental stress is entirely due to the fact there is simply not enough housing to go around.
Allison will continue to support the protection of the Eastern Shore's unique skyline and improvement of community parks and the environment.
Allison was the first elected member to advocate for mandatory sentences for paedophiles, lobbied for the Tasmanian Commission of Inquiry and will continue to support strong child protection measures.
Allison will campaign for a review of rental increases and property maintenance for public housing tenants. The rent should not increase every time your Centrelink payment does!
Allison will champion the development of a new Youth Services Hub on the Eastern Shore.
The Eastern Shore has insufficient and ageing infrastructure. Allison will advocate strongly for new and upgraded infrastructure for community and sporting facilities.
Allison was raised and educated on the Eastern Shore and her history of providing strong and effective representation for the local community means that she intimately understand the needs of the Pembroke community.
